Please read these Terms of Service carefully before using the Shopiva mobile application. By downloading or using Shopiva, you agree to be bound by these terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Shopiva ("the App"), you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

2. Use of the App

Shopiva is a personal shopping list application. You agree to use it only for lawful purposes and in a manner consistent with these terms. You may not:

  • Use the App for any unlawful or fraudulent purpose
  • Attempt to reverse engineer or tamper with the App
  • Use the App to harass, abuse, or harm others through shared lists
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' data

3. Accounts

You may use Shopiva anonymously or create an account with your email address. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.

4. Subscriptions and Payments

Shopiva offers a free tier and a Pro subscription ("Shopiva Pro"). By purchasing a subscription:

  • Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase
  • Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
  • You can manage and cancel subscriptions in your App Store account settings
  • No refunds are provided for partial subscription periods, except as required by law
  • We reserve the right to change subscription pricing with reasonable notice

5. Your Content

You retain ownership of all content you create within Shopiva (lists, items, notes). By using the App, you grant us a limited license to store and transmit your content solely for the purpose of providing the service. We do not claim any ownership over your data.

6. Collaboration Features

When you share a list with others, you are responsible for who you invite. You agree not to share lists with individuals who may misuse the shared content. We are not liable for any disputes arising from shared list access.

7. Data and Availability

We strive to keep Shopiva available at all times, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We are not liable for any data loss resulting from technical failures. We recommend using the data export feature to keep backups of important lists.

8. Third-Party Services

Shopiva uses the following third-party services:

  • Firebase (Google) — for authentication, data sync, and analytics
  • Open Food Facts — for barcode product lookups (free, open-source database)
  • Apple StoreKit — for subscription management

Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

Shopiva is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the App will be error-free, uninterrupted, or free of viruses or other harmful components. Use of the App is at your own risk.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Shopiva and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of or inability to use the App, including loss of data or profits.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

12. Governing Law

These terms are governed by applicable law. Any disputes shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation before pursuing legal remedies.
